WAV or MP3 recording please (1 Viewer)

Hello MP team,

Radio is recorded as a video ts file & I have a trial version of Switch Sound file converter which can convert the files to WAV for editing in Audacity. Is there a way please to record in Wav format? Could some very clever chap perhaps write a plugin for audacity perhaps to fire up.? Or MP to just record the audio bit?

I have the sinking feeling that this is not so easy hence why it has been long promised but not yet realized, so here is to hoping!

Sorry to dash your hopes but recording radio direct to WAV/MP3 is not on the roadmap for the foreseeable future.

Can't remember where, might even have been on the AV forums. But I seem to remember that it was an aspiration perhaps, never mind I will continue searching for the best converter to mp3 of ts files. If you happen to know any please let me know.

However, I have Audacity on my computer which most will know is freeware, would it not be possible to to fire that up in conjunction with a timer on the mediaprtal schedule & record the radio show in WAV? Just a thought & I have no idea how to write a plugin, so I assume there is a very good reason why not

Not automatic, but you could install ffmpeg library so you can import ts direct to Audacity, saves step of pre-converting.
