wc7 .wtv files -which codec? (1 Viewer)

Hi, Ive just come back to MP from mc7.

Id like to be able to play my old MC7 tv recordings in MP video player, but at the moment it freezes on to a blue screen(but it displays the video thumbs).
This is only a one off - I hopefully will not need to play wtv files again.


Im using sharkys latest codec pack, SO am I better off going to SAF? - Or is there another way?

Sample please, i do not have any of such files...

Make sure that the files aren't DRM protected. WMC can / will protect the files if the broadcaster wants. Can you play those files with any other application than the WMC?

You have to right click on each and every wtv file and select the convert to dvr-ms, you may then also have to change extention to mpeg to get mediaportal to play them through the Video part of MP, you will lose all metadata for these files unfortunately.

Thanks for the replies! I will try converting them tonight.
I dont think they would be protected , it was free to air recordings.
