Hello,

I've just realised I cannot get the weather data anymore. This is with version 0.2.2 but I've also tried with version 0.2.0 with the same result. I can access the www.weather.com website with no problems.

I live in the UK and I've just got a new wireless router from my ISP (Orange). Does the weather plugin require any special ports to be open in my router to be able to connect to the weather website?

Any help would be much appreciated!

:D

Thanks a lot Chenks. Any idea then why I cannot get the weather data? Does it work for you?

I am having the same issue. I can connect to everything on the internet fine.

If it helps, I just upgraded from Mediaportal_0.1.1.1 today to MediaPortal_0.2.2 and it worked fine prior to the upgrade.

I removed the previous version installed the new. I even removed all of the old files from the application directory, uninstalled and reinstalled.

Get the same unable to connect error.

Error now is "failed to perform city search, make sure you are connected to the internet"

Which I obviously am, since I am posting from my htpc.

I figured out the issue. Firewall had created a rule to allow MP out but apparently had not recognized the program as changing and therefore requesting for the rule to be updated.

But apparently did recognize it was not the same program when trying to access the internet and blocked it.

Removed the rule, tried accessing the weather again, it requested to create a new rule, approved and all is well once again.

Well this is what I Did to fix it. Is not really that it cant connect to the weather server is just that by default there is no city selected. So you would have to open

Mediaportal Setup > Weather > Add Your City In

Thats it now start up Mediaportal and it should connect

I have had no problems with the plugin since I started using MP all those years ago. This is until recently.

I have had the same two cities listed in all my configurations. I has Sydney, Australia and Melbourne, Australia. Both are now reporting "Bad or missing query parameters in request."

How do I troubleshoot the data being downloaded?

weather.com changed it's structure but there is already a workaround. Have a look here

P.S.: Be careful if you decide to refresh to 1.0 RC1. I tried it and it resets everything to defaults...
