But I could simply include a x in de page executing window.close() :) If the browser is Internet Explorer based a yes/no dialog will probebly appear when trying to close the window thrue Javascript. But that might even be good :)
Great! I'm interested. But I can't get a hold of the author of this plugin, so I'm trying to write one myself in PHP with help of some people here. It will take some time before I've got something usable. I have no knowledge of C#.

Well problem solved then :D I'll finetune it a little, maybe set an option to minimize to tray to not clutter the taskbar... What size is the web player?

I'm not sure yet, about the future plaugin. Is it possible to specify the size in the same configuration file where the url will be stored? That would be ideal.

I see some similarities with the MPBlue project

Just one thing you might want to watch out for - pocket IE (which .NET 2.0 uses as well) has some limitations with CSS, javascript and some DHTML stuff. I'm not sure if it even has the XMLHTTPRequest object at all...

There's probably an MSDN article out there that could help.

Looks like there are now three projects for PPC based devices now. I hope that one gets full support and the developers can ralley around it AND it is released as open source!

I think you can't really see this plugin as a PPC one. Main purpose is to control MP with the help from a webinterface.
The mobile device app should load that same webinterface as a shell so that you dont have to start it from PIE. So it rather differs from the MPBlue plugin which is a controlprogram itself...

The plugin this topc is about doesn't use the External Control Plugin 2. The way to go seems to me that there is one external control plugin that all external software communicates with. Very important is that the plugin will be mainained synced with the development of MP itself. otherwise there will be a lot off trouble with remote controlling.

The web interface for MyMusic I'm planning to write will be using the External Control Plugin 2. Sam game me the most recent version today so I can start writing (this version is not yet available from this site).

    Not working :(

Recently discovered MP and thing its great. Like the idea of controlling from other browsers, but I can't get this to work.

Installed as per instructions, mediaportal.log shows the .dll is running , but nothing opens up on port 8080

If I run the Console.exe I get errors in log.txt about UI is not part of System.Web etc....

    Any advice?
