I know nothing about programing at all . . . but it would be nice if this web based remote could be used from a mobile phone. I have a Nokia N80 and would love to use the web browser on the phone to control MP

cheers

you should also keep in minde that with the upcoming TV-Server for MediaPortal 0.3.0.0 the webinterface may need a rewrite.

As far as i know, maschine (developer of MPW) has allready started to plan the new version.
i am sure you 2 would work that out togetter :)

Thanks to Sam and Machine I could get started with the plugin today.
Small teaser of what I did today.

Far from finished ofcourse. I haven't realy spend much time on the looks. I've borrowed some graphics from the 3DMP skin (I hope you don't mind Venessa?). It's simple but effective.

What I'm hoping to be able to do...

    - Statusbar with possebility to jump to certain position in track (and display of position (time) in track.)
    - Volume slider or knob
    - Link to lyrics
    - Filebrowser
    - Playlist
    - Borderless browser
    - Minimizable to system tray
    - replace play button by pause button when playing music

Worked on the looks a bit, made player dragable, prepared for coverart and added dropshadow.

Somehow Javascript can only execute every command once in InternetExplorer 6. In Mozilla everything works fine. Does anyone have an idea what he problem might be? I can post the script if needed, but it's still a little messy...

I have started over because Sam (Samuel337) was kind enough to add some new features to the EPC2 plugin which made it possible for me to write a volume and progress slider. It still is far from ready, and the EPC2 plugin needs some changes and fixes too.
Just to give you an idea of what it will become. This is what I have working now. The update delay is +/- 1 and a half second. So you will actualy see the slider and time progress. Just like you are used to with your default mediaplayer.
As you can see I've used some of the Winamp default skin graphics for the skin. I'm not a very good designer, so this will change in the future when I'm done with the scripting.

Im going to start with the playlist part asap.

edit: It's Sam's birthday today or tomorrow by the way! (Happy Birthday !)

I don't think that will work. I'm using a lot of DHTML. I haven't tested it, but I don't think Smartphone and/or Windows mobile based browsers will support all features. Maybe I'll write a version for Smartphones to, once this one is finished.

    Hi,

I am happy that someone is finally doing this... I think it is very good feature for MP to have web-based reomte control... this could be used on PocketPCs, handheld touchscreen tablets or computers, and even phones etc... (of course, a different "skin" for each interface unit)...

I started working on something similar but work got in the way, I hope you have enough time to dedicate to this...

Have you given thought to adding a sourcforge project or something, just so it doesnt disappear if one day you stopmaintaining it...

Anyways, first things first: I hope you get this completed! Congratulations, looks great so far!
