Dear all,

I have a very strange problem with the WebEPG and timezone settings.

I am using the TV-server "xmltv" plug-in for managing the WebEPG.

When importing, I fail to set the timezone so it imports the XMLTV-epg properly. I detect this when looking for the "Tagesschau" news, which is always broadcasted at 8pm. When I set timezone hours to anything smaller than -1 or anything bigger than 1, then "Tagesschau" appears at 11pm in EPG. When I set timezone hours to anything between -1 and 1 (inclusive), then "Tagesschau" appears at 9pm in EPG. I have tried the following values: -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2 .

Can anyone tell me what I have to configure in the TV-server xmltv plugin so my XMLTV-epg gets imported to the right times? I have attached the log-file and my XMLTV-epg file.

Furthermore, is it possible to get EPG via DVB for those channels that are not provided via WebEPG, i.e. the following list of channels?

  • young tv
  • 2255live
  • ANIXE SD / HD
  • arte
  • Bibel TV
  • Bloomberg TV
  • DAF-AnlegerTV
  • Deutsches Gesundheitsfernsehen
  • DMAX
  • DrDish
  • equi8
  • ERF
  • Hitradio OE3
  • INNSAT.TV
  • K-TV
  • LUXE.TV
  • Radio Bremen
  • rhein main tv
  • Spass im TV
  • SpiritON.TV
  • TIER.TV
  • TIMM
  • tv.gusto
  • Voyages Television
  • YAVIDO CLIPS
  • GoTV
  • Musicmax
  • DELUXE MUSIC
  • imusic TV

Thank you,
Bjoern

Your XMLTV file looks perfectly normal to me. Did you ever try to import it without any timezone compensation on? I would clean the EPG-database and re-run the import without any timezone compensation to see whether this helps.

Thank you, that did the trick. Now I have to figure out how to grab the EPG properly. The shows listed in the XML file do not match with the real schedule, e.g. "Tagesschau" is a 15-minute news show, but yesterday it was shown in the EPG (and the XML) as a 7-hours program, where acutally sports was shown.

I had a closer look at your XMLTV file (especially for "Das Erste") and compared it to my own file. I noticed that atleast some of the entries in your file are shifted by one day ("Tatort" aired on Sunday is dated on Monday 15th in your file). One possible reason might be if you are running the webepg program during nighttime. At this time the epg provider will change their pages to show the program of the following day as today's program. That is the reason why I have moved my epg update into the morning time, and I don't have trouble with this anymore. I suppose that this might also be the reason for your 7 hr "Tagesschau".

Regarding your other question: Some of the channels (e.g. Radio Bremen, arte, Anixe) you listed are actually also available from at least one of the websites configurable in webepg, it might just be that the channels are not yet configured in the channels.xml file (I'm not sure because I do not have the latest version running). You could do this manually by finding the correct identifier on the respective epg-websites and entering the definition in the channels.xml.

Thank you very much for your assistance. Your proposals fixed my issues (at least for now, during Winter-time settings). Not using any timezone correction result in showing proper times. Running the WebEPG update at 10pm also results in properly grabbed EPG.

Could you please elaborate on how to add new channels to the WebEPG settings, i.e. those that are not in the WebEPG-Config program?
