system: see "My System" I have installed the new MP 1.0.0.0RC1refresh (client and tv-server both on one single machine (see MySystem). I choosed MySQL, because that was installed much faster than MS-SQL, even if i don't know the difference between these 2 databases, i'm a noob in databases. Then i tried to setup WebEPG instead of DVB-EPG, which has only 7 days and missing some channels: --- 1. downloaded the actual xmltv-set (xmltv-0.5.51-win32) from here: SourceForge.net: Files 2. unzipped into this folder: C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv 3. started C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\SetupTv.exe, here made general setups and channel-search (dvb-s) and sorted & grouped TV-Channels etc. and activated xmltv-plugin. 4. started C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\WebEPG-conf.exe and manually added same channels as in step 3 (import from server wasn't choosable / grey) 5. started C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Configuration.exe, activated WebEPG-grabber , which now imports the EPG-Data from the internet every day at 13:00 --- Question: does the TV-Server-config-pointer "Plugin -> XmlTv -> Settings" correctly point to C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\xmltv ? (that's the only place i found the TV-guide.xmltv ... :ooops: Or should i copy the WebEPG-folder and the xmltv-folder into C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\ so that the tv-server has "it's own xmltv" ? "MediaPortal Wiki TV-Engine 0.3 config-XmlTv" under TV-Engine 0.3/config-XmlTv - MediaPortal Wiki Documentation only says: "Browse to where your tvguide.xml is located. This will be where the creating program (such as WebEPG) saves the file. There should also be a xmltv.dtd file in this folder. If MediaPortal is installed this will usually be in the XMLTV folder." EDIT / Update: --- 6. back to C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Configuration.exe and deactivated WebEPG-grabber (because that should be the tv-servers job!) 7. back to C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\SetupTv.exe and in section "Plugin -> XmlTv -> Mappings" choosed the wanted group, then "Load/Refresh", the previous mapped channels appeared (most were green), then clicked "Save" 8. in "Plugin -> XmlTv -> Settings" clicked on "Import" and the good news appeared: "Last import run at: 21.04.2008 22:38:57 Total channels imported: 36 Total programs imported: 16890 Import status: tvguide.xml: File imported successfully:" 9. started C:\Programme\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe, jumped to MyTV and the EPG was loading the channel-infos. 14 days, up to 04.05.2008. 10. forgot, to adjust summertime germany: "Apply timezone compensation" in section "Plugin -> XmlTv -> Settings", changed "hours: -2" 11. "load/refresh" again in section "Plugin -> XmlTv -> Mappings", no green fields, hmm, ok: "White is already mapped" (should have rtfm) 12. forcing "import" in section "Plugin -> XmlTv -> Settings", successfully again --- Yeah, lucky! hmm, how about moving this thread to Electronic Program Guide - MediaPortal Forum ? Next to test: starting MP without MPTestTool2.exe, which makes my pc lagging, don't know why, cpu-load is only 3-10% , then recording and scheduling, editing, music, radio ... but that will be new threads. (sorry, I'm german, please write slowly...)
