Hello All!

I believe this is my first time posting in the MP forums (at least I don't remember posting before), so I wanted to start out with saying that MP is great! To the entire development team, thank you for your stupendous efforts! I am in the middle of getting my HTPC set up before I connect it to my HT and am having a lot of fun. Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe that my issue is actually a bug, probably just a serious annoyance. If I have posted this is the wrong area please let me know where I can post it.

I am using VLC as my external video player. I have created several long video playlists. I can play the playlists just fine. However, if I am in the middle of the playlist and want to exit VLC to go back to MP, then I must close the external player once for every item in my playlist (if I have 10 videos in the list, I have to close the app 10 times before MP comes back up). I am also not able to skip between files.

When I load a playlist into VLC (outside of MP), I have no problem with closing it in the middle of the playlist or skipping between files. So, I don't think the issue is with VLC.

I went back to MP and loaded another playlist through it. When VLC came up, I opened VLC's playlist window- there was only one file listed. I closed VLC; the next video started. I checked the playlist window again, and only the file playing was there.

It seems that MP loads each video separately within the external app (MP loads and plays 2nd after the 1st finishes playing and closes the app, the 3rd after the 2nd finishes playing and closes the app, and so on). It does not load the actual playlist within the player.

I went through all this with WinAMP also, just to make sure that my "issue" was with MP and not VLC. I received the same results, so I'm pretty confident.

Is there a way to force MP to load the playlist itself into an external player rather than one file at a time?

Thanks in advance!
Luke
