What about a "Link & Download zone" (1 Viewer)

Hello,

Perhaps, it would be useful to gather in a same and unique place on this forum :

- All the links to the useful updates, add-ons, tweaks which are useful for M-P
- All the different add-ons for M-P (from official or .. beta testing programmers..)
- The config and setup files made for M-P, by users, for well known softs (ex: GIRDER))
- The tips and tweaks made for M-P, by users for some well known hardware (Remote, TV cards.. and so on)
- The tips and tweaks made for M-P, by users for some well known software (Players..)

and so on..

Actually, inside the big number of posts of this Forum, there is many very useful and interesting links to personal works, which would be useful for others..

So, what about a new "Link & Download zone", like in the left frame on the front page af the DK forum : http://www.multiportalen.dk/

good idea, but we need
- a website or ftp server where we can store new builds
- and a lot of bandwidth!

if someone can provide both,i'm all for it

Hi Frodo,

I understand this big problem of storage in an unique place

But : what about this following "Lite solution" :

The M-P forum would stores only the links to the "add-on softs"
(links to pictures, logos, icons, drivers, updates, skins, various works , plugins, firmwares, configs, and so on..)

These original "softs" would stay where they actually are:
-> on their programmer's website or FTP.

The only challenge would be to often update the official 'download list' to maintain it, the more exact possible

Who could update the list ? (new version number, new soft)

-> The best would be the programmers which have their soft on the list !!
(these programmers would have the 'rights' to make that on the M-P site)

Think about a big advantage :
With the updated link, the downloaded soft would be always the last version, because it's programmer has always on HIS web/ftp site, the last version !
(It would not be the same, if the whole soft was stored on the M-P offical site :
On each new version, some works to do: delete old version, upload new version.., update the version number on the list...)

What is your opinion about this " Lite Solution" ? - Thanks -
