At the moment it can take as long as 5-7 seconds for me before I get both audio and video running after changing channels. About 4 seconds to get the audio, and then a couple of seconds before the video starts aswell. Is there anything I can do to speed this up, if I'm not mistaken the TV-card is an important factor, but can stuff like gfx card, CPU, memory and SSDisk speed it up aswell?

You name it, then it effects channel speed.

My channel change speeds are 1-2 seconds, but thats a lot down to how quickly MP can rebuild the graph (faster the hardware, then the quicker this can happen), that may well be why i don't see some of the problems other users see with slow response within the GUI.

Do you have fluid audio and video that fast? Is it the client computer or the server computer that has the biggest effect? My client computer has these specs:

    Asus 780G mobo (HD3200 gfx)
    2GB ram
    Phenom 9500 (2,2Ghz)
    Samsung 500GB HD
    Vista

    My Server:
    Asus P5B mobo
    Intel E2180 CPU
    2GB RAM
    Nvidia 6600 gfx
    XP
    200ish GB HD

    TV card:
    1xDigital Everywhere DVBT card

I used the tool to cleanup broken/misinstalled/mis-uninstalled codecs and filters.
Sorry -can't recall the name - hopefully someone reading can advise.
Anyway, my channel change went from slooow 8secs to about 3secs - feels much more like my old STB now. This is related to DirectShow graph buildng/resolving I guess and is consistent with the idea of it being a CPU bound operation.

I run single seat TV server.

Yes, your server if it had a client installed on that with those hw specs should be as fast, just not sure on the digital anywhere card speed changes.

So I can speed up my channel changes!?!?

I will try the Filmerit software when i get home. What else can I try? I ask because I don't think I have a codec issue.

I have a dedicated pc for Media portal only (Windows XP). Absolutely nothing else is running on it and the only codec is CCCP and CoreAvc.

It still takes me anywhere between 6-10 seconds to change a channel
