I am trying to use the Kworld PVR 883 with the conextant cx2388xx chipset. The chipset does MPG2 and MPG4 realtime encoding. When i try to setup the card it comes back with "Unable to Create Graph". Can anyone elaborate on what is happening? I played around with graphedit but could not get any results. I have tried other PVR-DVR software and currently the only one that works with it is snapstream. GB-PVR has similar problems. I would very much like to make this card work, if not this card does anyone have any other suggestions on TV-cards that can do on-the-fly MPG4? Also does anyone know if there is any plugins to create security DVR? By security dvr i mean one that can be used for home security?

Thank you for any replies.....

The message just tell you that MediaPortal could not find any information on your card and how to build the DirectShow graph.

MediaPortal use the well known DirectShow technology by Microsoft to grab image and sound from your TV Tuner, to play video files, listen to the Radio or play DVD. This is done with a graph which is a pipeline of filters. A filter represent one of the required step get information from one source, transform it and present it to the user.
E.G.

Code:
TV Tuner Capture Card Filter ->MPEG2 Demultiplexer Filter -> Sound Decoder Filter -> Sound Card Filter
-> Video Decoder Filter -> Graphic Card rendering

MediaPortal use a XML file which name is CaptureCardsDefinition.xml (~) which contains information for all the cards that are supported. If yours is not included you'll have to dig into Graphedit to build a working graph so we can support you card too. There is a sticky thread about this in the forum.

Got Video!

After spending 4 hours with graphedit(which really needs to be developed more) i got video working. There is a great deal to describe. I think the most important thing to mention is that the Kworld PVR 883 does not pass the audio through the PCI bus. I think this is the reason why i cannot get audio working. On the PVR 883 you plug a cable into the back of the card and then it has a audio lead that you loop back into the LINE IN on the audio card.
In graphedit i do not know what to link the audio out pin on the crossbar to. I tried almost everything and it says it is not valid. I am wondering if this is because there is no direct connection to an audio device and directshow knows this.
When i activate the graph in graphedit, at first i get no sound until i use the tuner filter to change channels, then i hear the audio. If i click on anything else the audio stops. I can give more detail if you need do you have any ideas?

Thanks for any reply.
