what epg for Sky UK? (1 Viewer)

I am setting up my MP system with a sat tuner and a sky card in a CI module.

What is the best EPG to use to pull in the sky channels prog data? I have read about web-epg and xmltv and xmltv2 and dont know where to start!

Any advice most welcome!

i have always used WebEPG, update to the last svn release from Main Homepage link as there have been a update for this.

In latest version you can pull in the channel list from TVServer channels, this is not 100% successful and you then do need to map some channels, how to do this see the WebEPG guide

Thanks - I am going to wait for tonights SVN update then install MP and give everything a go... hopefully I have done enough reading to get there without too many issues now, but will see how it goes

Given the progress made on RC2 I was almost tempted to wait for that, but i guess that RC1 with the latest SVN will be so close anyways now that it should be pretty much good to go so I will press on and take it from there

If you have any problems with WEBepg you can also use XMLTV and extract data from the radio times website.

I have been trying to get this working with digiguide data to varying degrees of success... I have my channel list in web-epg and have told it to use mydigiguide.com as the source, but when I run web-epg nothing happens... no file is created. WEBEPG runs for a couple of seconds then closes itself (from looking at task manager)

I have unpacked the xmltv from sourceforge and put it in the correct folder.

Is there anything I can look at to see what is going wrong??

How are you running the xmltv scan/ what have you done to configure it so far.

When XMLTV is importing you should have a cmd window displayed which shows its progress. This should be running for at least a few minutes or more but this is dependant on how many channels you are getting data for.
