Hello.

First i am from German and my englisch ist not very well. But i hope you understand, what I want.

I want to build my own MediaPortal PC with two Digital Everywhere FloppyDTV-CI (S2) Cards (are they both necessary?). Is it right that these cards are no dualtunercards ?

At the moment my roommate and I use a Athlon X2 and run VDR Software on it (Linux based) but when he went out (and takes the VDR with him) i want to build a Win based System with Media Portal Software. I want to watch normal TV, but i will build a System what can play HDTV.

I have a Gigabyte 6600GT with DVI from my old PC. Is this Card supported ? So can i use a DVI to HDMI cable to plug the Media Portal PC to the LCD TV ?

No more questions at the moment. Thanks for answers. :)

    Hi, and welcome!
Every DX9 capable graphic card is supported by MP, so yes.

I believe that you need two D.E.-cards to be able to ie. record one show while watching another, in most cases. (read more)

PS: MP forum has its own German section - but your English is more than understandable :)

Thank you for your answer. :)
You said, every DX9 Card is supported by MP. The question ist, how i connect the PC to my TV. I don't know if my 6600GT is HDMI ready. I want to connect with an DVI to HDMI cable. I ask that, because some new GPUs have HDMI output. But my 6600GT have no HDMI. Only DVI and with an extra cable YUV (i think its YUV) and Svideo.

I had a discussion with my roommate to use one D.E.-card and one normal DVB-S card. Because @ the moment in Germany are only 4 channels who send HDTV signal. So i can save some money at the beginning. Is that possible ? With this mix i can watch SDTV and record at the same time on different transponders. Or record HDTV and watch SDTV. Is that right ?

And the german section, thats very nice. :) I take a look on it.
