I'd also like that - this requires some more work though - especially since SMS-style char entry needs some general work atm..

If I get an idea how to implement this quick and _clean_ I'll do this - more likely you will have to wait a little for 0.2 to be released.

what about setting the cursor at the right input field and then start typing numbers. Whit a tab "jump" to the next field. back for delete
i.e.

start hour --> start minute --> end hour --> end minute

don't know if this can be implemented in the skin. But just a thought.

Hi,

I would really like to see MP's manual recording to be improved.
It should be just very simple and intuitive as it is on my good old VHS-Recorder from Panansonic.
It was so simple...
Date is set by default.
I just need to enter Start time and End time, select channel! Done!

And of course I do need to choose the exact time I would like MP to record something for me.
Means even I would like to record from 09:51 to 15:47, it should be possible.
I thing these quick steps should be left over.
Maybe we could make it something like this for the pop-up we have right now?

After hitting enter, the advanced feature we have right now could come up.

Another nice thing would be to use the rec.screen we have right now.
The right side could be used for start time , end time, date etc... and on the left side I would have all advanced options.
Now those who would like to make it quick, just use the right side and who would like to use advanced options can do this on the left side.
And I do not need to decide before scheduling,if I would like a quick or an advanced recording...

I thing using the rec.screen even for manual recordings would be a nice and plain solution.

That's the problem with this dialog. The screenshots from Ralph look like the old manual recording dialogs of previous mp versions. I don't remember when it was changed to the actual dialogs.

These old dialogs are not user friendly when using a remote to schedule a recording. The current dialogs are much better in that case.

I like the things rtv integrated in the last days. Especially quick and advanced scheduling. It helps to make scheduling easier.

But I hope to see the possibility to enter the start and end time for recordings in a future version soon.

I made some small tests with the "quick number" options - like:
1 00:00
2 00:15
3 00:30

but this didn't satisfy me - still searching for the best method..
