Hello everyone. What is "bass Engine" under the music player?

I ask because it seems to ofer more options, but when I try to use it it just freezes my whole media portal (I need to restart the PC). So in the meantime I use the internal Dshow player.

Thanks i'll look into the website you provided and i'll see if it's something i'm interested in resolving.

Is this something we have to install from the BASS engine website or is it provided with Mediaportal automatically?

(I'm assuming we have to install it, but the prerequisites didn't seems to state it)

no you don't need to install anything from there. everything is included.
we really need your logs, if you want us to help you

    Here it is.

I cleared the logs, started up media portal and tried to listen to my streams (this also happens with my mp3's or anything music related).

basically it freezes, only way out is to reboot.

Has nothing to do with Bass. You have a DirectX error:

    2009-09-29 18:53:24.562500 [Warn.][MPMain]: Main: ***** OnDeviceLost *****
2009-09-29 18:53:27.828125 [Info.][MPMain]: d3dapp: An error occured in OnResize - Error in the application.

    at MediaPortal.D3DApp.OnResize(EventArgs e)

Maybe it is related due to the Visualisation activated.
    Try to deactivate the Vis.
you may try upgarding to a 1.1 svn version.
