What is the purpose of the tv streams menu on TV home? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

what is the purpose of the tv streams menu on TV home? The wiki is empty. When I select an another stream, it works same as I change same channel.

If I understand you correct (bear in mind that I mixed up French and Spanish earlier today, I'm not to confident )....

Imagine you have two TV-cards. Each are tuned to a channel which is streamed to a client, ie:
TV-CARD1 [Channel 6] -----[STREAM 1] ---------> Living room client
TV-CARD2 [Channel 4) -----[STREAM 2] ---------> Master bed client

Now imagine you got another client, ie in childrens room, and you want to watch TV, you can hook up to an existing stream on the network. Nice if no TV-cards are available to tune into a channel.

Now I saw you'r post, and I think I nailed it!

The stream you currently have selected is Stream 1, carrying channel TV2.

When I tune same channel outside this menu it works same.

I have 3 dedicated clients and 2 tuners in tv server.

When I tune the 3rd client it works.

Yeah, it kinda depends on the TV-card/CI/decryption, and other stuff, like being on the same transponder.
I remember reading a nice summary of "what and how" regarding multidecryption... I might be able to dig it up, but no promises...

Anyway, for you ut seems you can handle multiple channels with one tuner....

As I see in the code there is no difference when the user select a channel from guide, change with remote or select from active streams. All of them call same ViewChannelAndCheck() method.
