NEVERMIND.. It helps to read the Manual.. I assume that this is part of the MediaPortal1 install or a Plug In.

I'm working on building a MediaCenter, and I just downloaded and installed Mediaportal1 on my pc. So now in looking over the site, I'm confussed as to what the difference between TV-Server and MediaPortal is.

What has me questioing this is that on the site it gives specific TV cards that work with Media Portal, and looks like the Hauppauge 500 is not supported or shows in that list, where TVServer says it supports virtually ALL TV cards.

Any info on ths would be greatly apperciated.

TVServer is a independant service for recording\streaming TV, so using the minimal amount of resources when used with standby\hibernate.

    PVR500 should work fine.

Mediaportal just connects to the TVServer when you want to watch live tv or program recordings.

So TVSever is a plug in option for Media Portal, or when you download MediaPortal it is included? I'd OPEN media Portal and check myself, but it hangs on me at DirectX initialization, as well sometimes at the Plug IN section. So I assumed it had to do with not having a good video card installed. I have a new one being delivered on a slow boat it seems :( They can never ship fast enough for FREE anymore lol lol

Thanks for the info BTW :)
