what kind of Remote Control for MP? (1 Viewer)

Hello,

i have a lot of remote controls.

- Technisat with USB and Serial
- Twinhan with USB TV mini DVB-T Card)
- Pinnacle with Serial (PCTV SAT Card)

Is it possible to use one of them with Mediaportal?
What does i need else?

And how can i start MP with this Remote Controls.

I want use a MCE Remote for MCE and an otherone for Mediaportal.
Both Software are on one PC.

But i want start and control MCE with the MS MCE Remote control, and start an control MP with the other Remote control.

Though you could use two buttons on the MCE remote, one for starting MCE and one for starting MediaPortal ... would that be a reasonable solution?

I just think it's a waste to have two remotes when one could do the job. Especially one as good as the MCE Remote.

I'm not familiar with any of the other remotes you've mentioned, but I don't think they are supported by MediaPortal. Though we probably could support them if one of the developers had access to one.

yes, but on my MCE Remote V1 have all butons MCE functions.

I thing the best soulution is to buy an all in one Remote.
But, when i buy a new one , i want see on my Remote the Musikdatabase.

Then i can select an hear music without an LCD TV.

Can Mediaportal control this funktion?
The Information from the GUI must sending to the remote.

I believe that the feature you're talking about is called SideShow, but I don't believe MediaPortal supports it yet.

If I were you I'd get a nice universal remote and use it with the MCE receiver.

The built in MCE remote support doesn't work with other remotes.

You might have more luck with the MCE Replacement Plugin.
