I have an old computer that i wont to turn in a mediportal pc. My specs are:
Dell GX260
Processor: Celeron 2 GHZ
Memory: 768MB
HDD: 41 GB 7200 RPM (+external 500GB USB disk)
Sound: Soundblaster Live CT4780 (with digital out)

The computer doesn't have an tv-out and i also need a remote. Can you give me an advise what to choose.
In first i only want to use the mediaportal for photo's and video's that are on an external harddisk. And offcourse the plugins from tv portal. I don't have to use the TV through the pc.

I can only choose for PCI of low profile AGP.

Ik hope you can advise me, what kind of videocard i can use, and where i can find remote (if possible, some resellers in the netherlands). Kind regards.

I have the ATI Radeon HD 4350 1Mb PCI card. It plays wonderful. It is passive cooled, has VGA Svideo, and DVI output. I use a DVI to HDMI cable.

The box says it has "Built in HDMI with 7.1 surround sound and will play and plays bluerays. With Low profile bracket.

Be careful, there are many types and versions of these cards. Not all have 1Mb and not all are passive.

Mine plays movies great and works with MP too.

APG has more bandwidth than the pci, if I could find the same card in AGP I would go for that.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, When I looked, mine is a PCI-ex... but they make similar ones in pci I believe.
