I installed, tried to run, and removed the basic mediaportal installation, 1.0.0.0 RC2, at east 6 times.

Subsequent to each installationl that I installed and tried to run, I installed and removed each of the last 5 weekly snapshot releases.

Wth all attempts to start Media Portal, the SplashScreen tells me "(Not Responding)" and I cannot get past this Media Portal error message:

"media portal configuration.exe application error Process ID=0xfdc (4060), Thread ID=0xfe0 (4064)"

When I press OK, the program terminates.

Searching on this forum, and the web, in general, gives me no clue to what to look for, beyond the possibility of a configuration error...

Also, I have a basic FTA antenna and receiver setup, using a DISEQC/USALS motorized dish, that works flawlessly, but I am puzzled as how Media Portal knows my location, if it does, to point that antenna to the correct direction,
when it is connected to my TwinHan AD-SE200(1028). Needless to say, if Media Portal needs to run, properly, before I can access some configuration option for my location, my first problem relates to my second.

I am running Vista 64 Ultimate. with an AMD dual core 64 bit machine.

Any help, beyond Wild Ass Guesses, would be appreciated.
