Can someone recommend a anolog dual tunner TV card that works with TV server. I have a Nvidia Dual TV but it dosen't find channels. All my efforts to get some support have been ignored. Even though the wiki states "any analog card with h/w encoding onboard" this is not true since my Nvidia Dual TV dosen't work. So IF I decide to get another TV tuner I want to make sure it works TV server first.

Hey, I've got a hauppauge PVR-150 it's only single tuner but the PVR-500 is dual tuner and I think its just 2xPVR-150. I'm sure it works with TVServer; the PVR-150 works PERFECTLY. ( apart from an audio artifact problem I'm experiencing at the moment and I'm sure that will be fixed soon since it has been already identified :) )

Shame about your nvidia card, I see you've been posting a lot about this and I'm sure it must be frustrating! Can you not find anyone else in the MP community who has this card(working)?what sort of encoding chip is it got? (nvidia one I guess, dur!) What software dose it work with?

It may best to cut your losses and sell the nvida card to recoop some cash and get a hauppauge. There is power in numbers! At least with a very common card you can be sure there will always be updates and fixes.

I can tell you now. once you get tvserver running sweet it really great! An it will become even better as it matures.

When I first started using MP about a year agao I started with a hauppauge PVR 500 and had all kinds of problems with it. So I actually sold it to get the Nvidia Dual TV. Which dose work with the TVE2 and GB-PVR. I also have a ATI TV Wonder Elite which also works TVE2 and GB-PVR and has the same isssues in TVE3. Almost everyday I see a new post stating they are have the same issues with TVE3 (with all differnt models of TV cards) yet there is no help from any one to get the issue fixed. I'm now thinkg its best to keep what I got and hope for the best that some day it will work with TVE3. As its too much of a gamble to start buying other TV cards hoping they work. I really love MP I just wish I could get a little support, so I can get the TVE3 working with the hardware I have.

    Hi,

As the TV server is beta software, I would be inclined to wait a little while for support for the nvidia card. I'm sure it will be sorted eventually. In the meantime, stick with the old TV engine for now, unless you desperately need some features of the new one.

I understand that it can be a bit annoying to post bug reports and have them ignored, but the developers don't work for us, and we aren't paying them, so there is no obligation.

Maybe the devs don't have one of these cards to test??? Is anyone in a position to loan them one?

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Yeah in that case stick with TV2 it's a great product! Maybe there is a dev out who there who knows about this problem and will fix it in TV3 when they have time, I don't think they have to justy ANYTHING! ;-) I don't think they have to comment on the forums if they don't want to. From what I've noticed the MP devs a farily quiet on the forums but know exactly what is going on and what the issues are. If this means less chatting and explaining and more coding then thats greate ;-D I mean seriously do you think the devs don't know about this nvida etc problem? Patience is best now. It's just fantastic that we have such a great product (TV2) to use!
