    In Australia:

Testing my sytem (6 DVB-T tuners) I recorderd 12 channels at the same time. lots of HDD activity, little CPU usage.

In real life I never got to record more than 10 due to overlapping recordings and only a hand full TV channels available.

    Are you recording free-2-air?

Is it actually possible to find more than 4 things on Australian TV that you'd want to record at the same time?
    :D

once a week, during some seasons, it happened that we would record on ABC, Seven, Nine, Ten and SBS at the same time 2 programs in a row. So for the 20 minutes that I had the recordings overlap I would have 10 recordings going.

I must say most of the time it was hard to find something to record from free to air with so few channels to choose from.

Now we live in the USA where I have a few hundred channels to choose from, and we have the oposite problem. Too much to watch.

I'm in the middle of setting up another MediaPortal machine (trying to get a HVR-2200 working which I've noticed on another thread you've got working). Part of the reason I'm doing this is because of the overlap. My wife records Home and Away every day and it always runs late.

I have 5 tuners in my system, 4 dvb-t and one analogue. I regulaly record 4 programs at a time, these often over lap as well. I have recordered 12 at a time just to test it and it worked well. these days I don't watch anything live it is all recorded. i have 2 clients running off it as well.

With my 4 tuners I can theoretically record 22 channels at the same time. Never tried it though. 5 dvb-t channels, 2x8 dvb-c channels and 1 analog. Of course the 22 channels are not random, but the most populated FTA mux'es available.
