When closing mediaportal.exe - computer changes from duplicated monitors to extended (1 Viewer)

Hey, we have this really annoying problem in that we're trying to display a tv feed from a media portal TV server to the 2nd monitor on a computer. Any time that mediaportal is shut down or closed, the computer gets re-configured to extend the desktop to monitor 2. We would like for our setting of monitors 1 & 2 being duplicated to stick. Any ideas?

Figured it out although I think this is a bug with mediaportal. When we run taskkill /f /im "mediaportal.exe" it will cause the monitor configuration to change. If we leave out the /f and do a simple taskkill /im it will not change the monitor configuration. We've also noticed that when we end-process the client that it will change the monitor configuration as well. This is very frustrating as the two monitors are in completely different rooms.

I'm now having to setup the taskkill process to run every morning because the TV Server bombs out every night and in the morning we're greeted with a "Cannot stream 2.0" error message on the client. After restarting the TVServer service on the server it will come back to life (after rebooting the client as well). I can't say my experience with mediaportal has been pleasant...

What is your video card setup?

I use taskkill /f /im to restart the front end on 1.02 (WinXP SP3) and 1.1RC5 (Win7) without issue.

My 1.02 config was NVidia 7600GT HDMI, Monitor (DVI), TV (HDMI, Primary). I forgot the Driver version.
My 1.1RC5 config is ATI 5450, Monitor (DVI, Primary), TV (HDMI). In MP, I set the TV to start MP on TV (secondary screen, extended desktop). Using ATI Catalyst 10.6

As I noted, you can tell MP to launch on specific screens...which screen is yours configured to start on?

When I execute my cmd (restart actually, does a taskkill /f then starts MP), nothing changes monitor wise.

However, I think there is a greater issue: why is the TV server dying? It should not fail...
