I am having trouble getting the HD Homerun to work. I have searched on the forums (and posted a question in the Beginners Forum), and supposedly I need to edit the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file in the MediaPortal program directory. It does not exist at all-anywhere on my computer Why?. I can not get anything to recognize the HD Homeruns. Please give me step-by-step instructions on what to do.

Thanks.

The CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file is only required for the in-built TV engine (TVE2). I assume that you have installed the server version (TVE3) of MediaPortal, in which case the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file is not required, and therefore will not exist, in your installation.

If you need assistance with getting getting the HD Homerun to work, then I suggest you describe the symptoms of the problem and attach the relevant log files. The more information you can provide, the better the chance of getting some useful advice ... ;)

Thanks for the info on the config file. I have included the Log Files as per your request.

Every time I start TV, the program freezes. I have to hit ctrl-alt-del to get out of it. Sometimes it freezes right away, other times it freezes after a few seconds.

I can not get the TV to work at all--no guide, can not seem to tune anything. What do I need to do to get it working?

I want to use a TV Guide from a website such as Zap2it, because the guide info that comes in with the channels is almost non-existent.

Also, the Weather module always give me this error when I try to use it: "Unable to get weather data. Bad or missing query parameter in request". I have tried it with several different cities and get the same thing.

    Hi,
    The CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file file it's on XP located in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Programdata\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal"

Edit: See that you use TVPlugin which means TV server it's also installed, but no logs from it, quess you have to update to latest SVN which has a update for log collection. & since you use TV Server you don't need to update Capture file(as Taipain has pointed out)

    Regards
    Roy

You need to update to the later svn's to get this fixed MediaPortal and TV-Server 1.0 RC1 svn-builds - MediaPortal Forum

You do not say which skin you are using, if BlueTwo, then the fix is already included to match up with the 5 day weather, if not see individual skin post for there fix.

If not using TVServer, then you only need to install the Mediaportal.exe and follow it instructions (do not uninstall MP, as svn overwrites files).

See Roy beat me to it, if you are using TVServer, then uninstall that first, with select NO to deleting your database, install new version from svn after the mediaportal update.

    :D :D
Thank you! I tried the new svn build and it now works!!

Please forgive me, but now I would like to set up my tv guide (EPG). I have looked through the forums and am lost. I do not want to use the data that is transmitted with the channel, because it pretty non-existent. So I want to set up something else, but do not want to use Schedules Direct ($).

Something that I can't figure out is that everyone says the Zap2it website is closed down. I can get my listings here, but apparently the zap2it plugin no longer works, due to the fact everyone says the site is dead it hasn't been modified.

Or will the MeeVee website downlod ths files in the format I need? If so, how do I do it?

Please explain to me step-by-step on how to set up an EPG. I am using the TV server 3

Thanks!! I am currently a Beyond TV user, but will gladly donate to this project if I can get it set up. BTV is nothing but trouble--I can not watch TV or recorded stuff because it stutters and jumps so bad.
