[SOLVED] which backed up files do I need to copy over for my stb setup?

Hi - I have done a fresh install of 2.1.0. after backing up all of the media portal folder for 2.0.5. I have a sky digibox stb setup and want to avoid having to manually set up each channel again (120 channels equals one and a half hours of useless effort).

I have now copied back my tvguide.xml and my channellist.xml to the new install. However, MP still complains that there is no epg ( I have done an "import epg" twice when in MP) and also all my channels are still not shown as external/stb etc.

Question: What files do I have to copy over to get MP to recognise my previous MP channels set up?

Thnx

RJ

I've not updated to 0.2.1.0 yet, but with other releases I go to the setup and from there the TV configuration has a Backup button. Later I restore the XML files (again from TV setup) and most information is back: scheduled recordings, list of tv recordings, tv channels and groups.

Thanks iglan. I backed up the new install, had a look at what files it had backed up and then copied the same ones back over from my old install. That fixed it.

The safe method is the one explained above. Databases and configuration files can change from one version to another; using older files may cause that MP gets bad configuration data.
