Which Lib MP uses to extract Media Meta-Data Like Artist, Album (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm a developer and have noticed that MediaPortal handles Media Meta-Data like Artist, Album, Title well. I'd like to know which Library MP uses to extract Media Meta-Data. I tried using MediaPortal but it did not run well on my p4 1.6 GHz 374 MB system, so I decided to write my own Player. Please tell me how can I extract Media Info from my files.

How to Extract Ratings using TagLibSharp

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that MP handles the rating contained in the Media files well. Can you tell me how to use TagLib# to do that TagLib.File.Tag has Properties for year, Artists, Title, Album etc. but not for Rating. I tried contacting TagLib# forum but no response yet. So please refer to the code snippet which can do that for me.
