I run MP 1.1.3 in a 2.66 Ghz celeron with 1Gb ram and a 8mg intel 945 GMA. The mainboard has only old style PCI ports and buying a discrete video card for it is unthinkable as I'd rather spend twice the money and buy a second-hand new rig.
Overall its response times are alright. I'ts got XP Home, a 40Gb internal HD and a 2TB external (USB) drive with all the media. It also doubles as a server and P2P machine.
Nevertheless, the processor fan only spins up and makes a lot of noise while at any menu or filelist in MP. I can even play 720p and the fans will be silent unless I bring up the MP OSD such as when I change the volume or scroll through the video.
Listening to music is another story because the fans will spin up and down as long as the menu or file list is up, even with the screen blanked.
That's why I'm looking for the skin that will impose a lighter burden on it. Keeping in mind that in this precise case the CPU has to do all the graphic rendering work.
