I am planning to upgrade my HW this weekend to a 64bit Intel CPU w/32GB RAM running Win7 x64. I have a single seat installation, which I later plan to extend with additional clients.
The wiki suggests that SQL Server may be a better choice than the automatically installed mySQL, but doesn't give much guidance on whether to use SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008. I am most familiar (and therefore most comfortable) with SQL Express 2005. However, I would assume that I would be better off using the latest and greatest, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition SP1 (x64). Any comments on the pros and cons, especially advice based on experience with any of these configurations would be most welcome.
