I appreciate streaming TV to the clients may accommodate a setup with 10+ clients , however, why is there not a "my tv" client that simply uses a windows samba file share?
If you look at other products such as sageTv you'll find the tv server writes the live tv stream to a file (as mediaportal does) then the client simply reads that file over a regular windows samba file share..
I ask this as I've used mediaportal for years and constantly to this day the only component that has been a pain in the backside to get working and keep working has been "my tv". I thought maybe if my tv worked like my video then a lot of issues would be mute.
For the 99.90% of users with only a handful of clients would it be possible to write a my tv client that does TV in this fashion?
