Hi,

I don't see the MP TV scheduler as a service why is that?
Does Media Portal really need to run when something is recording? I don't know if i like that i think it is much better that the recording of scheduled programs is completely separated from the UI. So that when i install plugins or have to do some configuration for MP (the ui) itself the recording of stuff is done by a service that does only that. recording..

ahh ofcourse, thx,
i didn't think about that directly (that you then just install everything one one PC). Its a bit more heavy then (needing that DB)

Will that be the further of MP? (so further 'standalone' versions of MP will be TV Server and directly a client?) Or will this be always be a separated thing?

Future versions of MP will support the TV recording engine as a service provided by the TV server. People with a single HTPC will run both the server and the client (MP) on the same box, but those who want a dedicated box to fill with Tuners can run the TV server on a seperate box, and the client (or multiple clients) on other machines around their home.
