    Hi all :D
    Im back trying MP after about 6 month, and what a differens :!:

    On my test-PC it is running smoth and it´s very stable with this configuration (with all tested CVS)...

    MediaPortal Version: 0.2.0.0 RC3 CVS-13.04.2006
    MediaPortal Skin: BlueTwo
    Windows Version: Windows XP (SP2)
    .NET CLR Version: 2.0.50727
    DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904 (9.0c)
    Audio Codec: NVIDIA Audio Decoder
    Video Codec: NVIDIA Video Decoder
    CPU Type: Intel Celeron - 2.66GHz
    Memory: 509 MB
    Motherboard: D915PSY (Intel Corporation)
    TV Card Model: Twinhan DVB-T 3040
    TV Card Driver: BDA v1.2.3.6
    Video Card Model: Radeon X300/x550 Series (128 MB)
    Video Card Resolution: 1280x960
    Video Render Type: VMR9
    Audio Card Model: Realtek High Definition Audio (integrated)

    ...but on my HTPC Im having BIG problems (with all tested CVS)
    1. sometimes get pop-up message "My TV" and TV wont start
    2. when it starts its not stable
    3. Ive got "tearing". A horizontal line across the picture ...when running Meedio it runs smoth!

    I have note done a "clean installation" on any of these PCs. Could this be the major problem?

    Running out of ideas what to look for. So if anyone have a clue/idea I would appreciate it!

    Yes, I think it probably is - please un-install MediaPortal, delete all the Mediaportal folders, and do a fresh install of 0.20RC3. Apply the latest SVN before you run Configuration - you should find that it is very stable. Also, don't forget (if you haven't already done so) to apply all the Windows XP updates and all the relevant patches mentioned in "Tips and Tricks".

    Yes, I hade those MS fixes installed.

    Edit: Would it be any idee to reinstall Windows?

    Yes, I just did so myself a few weeks back, and MediaPortal has been terrific ever since.

    I suggest you take a "Ghost image" at each stage (after windows is installed, and after MediaPortal is installed) just incase you need to go back to a clean environment. I also recommend that you plan the whole installation carefully, so that updates and patches are applied in the correct sequence, and that you only install just what is required to run MediaPortal. It is well worthwhile the effort.... :)

    WOW what a Rocket!!

    I did reinstalled Windows SP2 (with recomended updates)
    Then I installed...
    1) .NET 1 + SP1
    2) MediaPlayer + KB891122
    3) KB888656
    4) KB896626
    5) .NET 2
    6) Drivers for Audio, BDA etc.
    7) MP + latest updates

    Now my channel changes are 1-2sec (earlyer 6-12sec)!
    No tearing!
    Next step is Nvidia Decoder 8)

    Makes a big difference, not something to be taken lightly, as can be a real pain in the ****.
    Recommend you GHOST your setup to make any further reinstallation a breeze.
