No problem. We totally understand the confusion on the user side. To be honest: You should take MP1 and MP2 as completely different projects. They don't have much in common except:

The name MediaPortal
both are targeting to be a multimedia / htpc software
both are hosted at team-mediaportal.com
As a result of the differences in the development architecture, especially the skin engine, we have to independent development team. The amount of devs working on MP2 is much lower than those are working on MP1, which is the reason why a user might get the feeling that MP2 is getting better very slowly. Even if it is confusing for the end user to have two different versions, which are in fact two different products it has many advantages. We can share many years of experience of devs, testers, documentation team and users. We can share all the online facilities, and slowly but sure more and more people are moving over to MP2. Nevertheless as it is a open source project and everybody is doing this in his free time nobody can and should be forced to work on specific things. Regarding the bug reports, of course they are completely independent from each other. So if something gets fixed in MP1 it doesn't mean it also needs to be fixed in MP2, be it because of the feature does not exist, yet or even better the issues does not even exist in MP2. A difference here would be the TVE35 which will be share between MP1 and MP2, but that's a different story and in a very early development stage.
