Long time lurker, first time poster.

Just got MediaPortal up, and running last night. Still trying to sort a few things out, but seem to be well on my way. And am really happy with it.

One of my goals is to configure it to be as family friendly as possible.

Two things I'd like to see, that may unbeknownst to me be available.

1) When selecting a movie to watch, it would be nice to have a little hourglass, or animated icon to indicate that it's working on loading the video to play. There is a long enough delay that others think it's not responding when a title is selected.

2) Have an option to remove or shade out, or password protect the 'settings', and 'plug-in's' icon to prevent un-intentional changes.

As minor as these requests are, they a not complaints..

Mine takes 1-2 seconds before playback (MovingPictures plugin), are your files on a local HD or server.

2) Have an option to remove or shade out, or password protect the 'settings', and 'plug-in's' icon to prevent un-intentional changes.

I use a skin with a basic home editor like StreamedMP and create a new basichome screen without those choices, of course that does not remove them from the normal home screen.

You can completly hide them using the options of home plugin.

My movies (DVD Video_TS folders) are stored on shared drives on my desktop, and streamed over my wired network to my HTPC. It takes about 6 seconds to start playing. Long enough for others to think it's not responding.
