Will this card/remote set work? (1 Viewer)

Ok, i am looking at these cards:

They both come with remotes. Will these cards/remotes work with media portal? If not, would someone post an alternative card/remote set that is in the same price range?

Get a hardware card (Hauppauge PVR-150MCE recommended) as thats all MP officially supports in terms of analogue cards and a MCE2005 remote control. They are probably the best combo in terms of support.

I agree, you should take the hauppauge card.

The PVR cards have a hardware encoding MPEG2 chip. This way your pc doesn't need to encode all the frames. If you want to record and watch tv at the same time you can use 2 of these cards in MP.

the XP is software based and wont work
the Expert is hardware based an *MAY* work ...

a hardware option like a hauppage MCE type card is a definite O.K.
