Ok so i ordered this remote from ebay PC Windows Media Center MCE Remote Control+USB Receiver on eBay, also, PC Remote Controls, Input Devices, Computing (end time 18-Dec-08 18:02:19 GMT) I've never done any key mapping but was wanting to know if its possible to configure it for use with mediaportal. The only buttons that work are the directional buttons and the power button ( which switch's the pc off but not on again ). any help appreciated.

i used a compro remote once, which is also not supported through the built-in remotes. I ended up using HIP, and mapped the buttons on the remote that did not work in MP to keystrokes (found in MP Configuration).

There is plenty of good advice on here about HIP, so have a search. If you cant find anything, let us know...and we'll try to help

Thanks for the reply I'll give that a try, is the HIP app similar to eventghost ?

i havent heard about eventghost, but HIP will watch for your remote commands, and then mimmick keyboard strokes, depending on how you configure them.
