ok, i've only started looking into my options here so please be gentle, after stumbling across this software it looks pretty decent, but wanted to check if what i have in mind is suitable for the new place i am moving into soon.

living room - main tv - htpc attached with tv tuner (movies, tv shows and music on hdd also attached)
bedroom - small pc/laptop - running mp software, can that stream all the content i have from the main pc in the living room or does the media have to be networked and then each pc setup to see it?
kitchen - touchscreen pc - stream tv and tunes from living room??

is mp capable of streaming the tv as i only have an aerial in one room and only one tv tuner card?

any advice would be great, i've got most of the hardware kicking around so i figure this could be a great way to serve most of the house with tv/music/films

Yes it can do all of this, kinda like my setup but I have a dedicated server for the files and 4 smaller mediacenters but I also dont use tvtuner cards.

But MP is made to do this, you can watch tv from all networked pcs with MP and record from them also and recordings will go in the drive specified by the PC with the tuner card.

Like I said I dont use the tv part of MP but I have before and know it can do this just rusty on the specifics of it.

cheers for that, been playing around with it at the moment, seems to work ok - only problem is my tv card doesn't work anymore, only just realised they've switched off analogue here, and the pc hasn't been on for a while! ebay here we come!
could only get it to work with adding the file locations to each machine, could that raise permission problems if two machines have the same files on playlists etc??:sorry:
