Now I changed to W10 (I hesitate to describe it as an upgrade) I am looking for advice on how to set the sleep power options (from reading posts here - all off) and the MP sleep options thru Powerscheduler. When I had W10 set to sleep after 100 minutes, the PC would sleep in the middle of watching so less than optimal! The the PC would immediately go to sleep after waking up - took ten tries to slip in with a reboot. As I never got sleep to work using W7 (except by putting the PC to sleep via direct intervention) I thought I would redouble my efforts to try to get it working now.
Any tips most welcome.
Neil

    I am on Win 10 too and basically sleep is working. I have set up Power Scheduler to sleep after 15 minutes, which it does if idle, i.e. not playing anything or using the remote, with "Standby handled by Windows", you may want to check the configuration via the Advanced tab in Power Scheduler, I use (Hybrid) Sleep S3. I did try opting for Power Scheduler to handle standby but then if MP was not running it would sleep after 15 minutes regardless of anything else going on in Windows. It will also go to sleep and wakeup via the power button on my remote, it wakes for scheduled recordings and EPG grabbing and returns to sleep when done.
    That said where I do have issues, is putting my TV and AVR into standby using a Pulse Eight CEC adaptor and HDMI CEC plugin, but that is another story.

    From what you say it appears that you may not have activated the PowerScheduler in the TVServer plugin section. Actually MP controls its energy settings through the powerscheduler, which is running on the server PC. This applies to both client/server as well as single-seat configurations. The client is then communicating with the server to signal activity. The process is logged in MediaPortal and can be verified there.

    Please check that you have activated and configured the PS in the TVServer config. If you continue to have issues, then please post debug logs.

    Thanks. I have now got it working to spec. Didn't realise I still had Windows handling sleep as well - and that you had to set up Powerscheduler in both MP & TVServer

    Hello beatnuk88,

    I assume you are talking about MP2? What does "setup Powerscheduler in both MP & TV sever mean"? I cannot see from within MP2 any options under settings for Powerscheduler to be enabled. It does not show up under Plugins. Could you clarify please?

    Thanks

    @lacanox,

    You are resurrecting a 20 months old MP1 support thread where the original thread owner hasn't last been seen more than five months ago ;).
