Windows 7 MCE remote "hangs" (1 Viewer)

I've just installed Windows 7 (64 bit) on a new machine, with a very good spec. I have MP installed on a Vista machine without any issues.

When I use the remote, it seems to hang for a few seconds on a regualr basis as I'm scrolling through the menus. It happens on both Blue3 and SteamedMP skin. It's at different points, when I'm just scrolling up and down the menus on the front splash screen - so it's not that it's on page transitions or anything. MP stops, thinks and then two seconds later moves to the next menu item - and if I've clicked down three times it moves on three menu items.

I've got nothing else open on my PC except task manager and when the "hang" happens then MediaPortal drops from around 3% of CPU usage to 0% and it seems to do this every 20 or so seconds

I followed these setup instructions for MP.

Acutally it doesn't seemed to be linked to my remote, MediaPortal just hangs as I'm scrolling through the menu ... never did it with my Vista setup

Did you ever fix this?
I have just installed Win 7 and I am seeing the same problem.
Probably going to revert to Vista tonight, cause I can't live with this issue.

Also having problems with the remote (volume + info doesnt work) but that's a different problem.

AW: Windows 7 MCE remote "hangs"

Hi.
Wich version of MePo do you use?
Below 1.1.0 Beta the Remote dosn't work correctly on Win 7 Machines. This is due some internal changes Microsoft has applied to Win 7.

I just installed the 1.1 Beta from the download section - No SVN.

I don't have TVserver active, since I use ForTheRecord. Come to think of it, I have heard of issues with MediaPortal trying to connect to TVserver all the time, if it doesn't get a connection. I never thought of it yesterday though.
I did reinstall my Vista yesterday since I really need MediaPortal to work properly (WAF takes a huge dive everytime I mess with something and f*cks up the HTPC :-P). Guess I'll wait for a stable release of MediaPortal 1.1 and hope the remote issues have been solved in there. I don't want to mess with SVN versions, since I have earlier had issues with it.

Thanks alot for the fast responses, seems that the road to a perfect win7 installation is not nearly as far as it seemed yesterday.

Maybe you have not read my post.
If you install mediaportal with tv client and u don't have a tv server active, you are going to have that issue on windows7, vista and xp!
And it's not related to the remote

No, I got what you meant. I just had two different issues, one being the remote issue (that apparently is solved in a later SVN) and the "hanging" issues that can be solved simply by disabling TVclient.
