Windows XP + MP 1.0.2 - which remote? (1 Viewer)

I have one HTPC that uses MediaPortal, the Windows MCE 2005 remote IR receiver and a Logitech Harmony remote, and all is... harmonious. I recently purchased a different PC (Acer Aspire Revo) and wanted to do something similar, but it appears that if you want to buy an XP-compatible MCE remote these days, you either have to pay thru the nose ($80+) or get lucky on eBay.

So are there any other recommended remotes that work well out of the box with MP and Windows XP (SP3)?

Also, is it a pain to get one of the Vista-compatible MCE remotes working under XP or should I steer clear?
