So, with the cable card it would work with media-portal? I was looking at this option to ditch my cable box from time warner as the cable card rental is cheaper than the box.

MediaPortal does not support decrypting cable channels with *any* CableCard tuners at this time. The WinTV-DCR-2650 is no exception.

The cable card will not work with MP. The post proceeding yours was to show that Hauppauge does not support the 2250 and Colosuss in a system together.
