Message: <blockquote data-quote="aseverance" data-source="post: 179274" data-attributes="member: 56250">I'd say XP SP2 as well - Vista can be quite a hog (not that XP isn't a cow, but it's better than Vista) and does have some pretty serious driver and support issues.If you're going to be doing ripping/conversion/p2p on the box you want to make it as efficient as possible.  Since MP is going to be handling most of the visualization when it's running as a media center it will look just as nice on XP.  When you're running your other apps you're going to want as much RAM as possible available so you'll probably end up turning off most of the touchy/feely settings in vista anyway.</blockquote>
