Hi!

Moving Pictures is a great plugin, it works very fine, also on my PAL-System!

The only function I'm missing is one that would complete the automated integration of new films without entering the config.

now the following files are needed for one film to integrate it automatically:

film.avi
film.jpg (cover)
film-backdrop.jpg
film.nfo (containing the imdb-id)

Now Moving Pictures renames the Film like it is named in the IMDB ect. and here is my request:

Is it possible to take the film-title 1:1 from the filename and ignore the IMDB-film-title? automatically?

because I have two reasons for that:

1. I want f.e. the following movies renamed:

Indiana Jones 1 - Raiders of the Lost Ark (and not "Raiders of the Lost Ark")
or
Star Wars Episode 4 - a new hope (and not "Star Wars")

2. all my DVD-Films are also integrated with dummy Videos. All these Films has an "#DVD" at the End of its Name, like:

Underworld 2 - Evolution #DVD.avi

It would be a great advantage, if this function would be added to moving pictures!

thanks!

I'm not sure if I complitely understand you, but from my expirience the following configuration works perfect:
1. Put your movies in separate folders each.
2. Call the folder <Original movie name>
3. In this case you will have fully automatic movie recognition by MovPics. If movie exist in internet databases suported by MP - you will have details, cover-art, backdrops loaded automaticaly.

If your movies doesn't present in internet databases - you need specific scraper for you it.

Movie name... Yes, it pulls from IMDB.com, etc. But the only case you need to go to configuartion - to rename movies in accordance with your specific needs (for ex Star wars, Indy, etc). I really think it's not too often task. Btw, IMDB.com pulls numbers for Star wars exactly as you want, except Episode IV :).

For DVDs - I don't have any expirience.

Yes, thats a great idea! One example more: All my 007-Movies are stored in folders named like:
    James Bond 007 - GoldenEye
James Bond 007 - From Russia with Love
James Bond 007 - Casino Royale
James Bond 007 - Quantum of Solace

    Best regards

I swear I already requested this on another google topic..? Can't remember which one though.
I'd just like a global tickbox in the settings "Use filename as display name", without the extension of course.
Of course I can rename files, but the less I have to spend in the admin the higher the WAF gets :)

i will look into your claim :) if so i'll merge that issue also.. How i see it is that a movie can have multiple titles (being alternatite titles, localized titles or custom titles) and the users needs some control over which of the name it has to pick :)
