Hello again!
Tonight I finally managed to get one test through. First I had a lot of problems with mediaportal trying but not succeeding to start a recording. There where errors in tv.log but nothing in error.log. I have attached this as log2.zip if it can be of any use solving my problem.
However, the interesting logs are in log.zip where, as far as I can understand, the recording seems to have gone rather well. However, the length of the recording as seen in the .ts file is only 7.02 minutes, after that it stopped.

I have a MS remote control, that is probably the thing you saw in my older logs, tried to keep these as clean as I could.

The actual tests in both cases where that I used the epg to select a show to record and shortly before the show erased the log files. Shortly after the show I added them to a zip-archive.

Cheers John, the new logs are much easier to read :)
You're right, nothing in the first set of logs (log.zip) appears to have gone wrong.
Do you have trouble if you watch live TV (analog) for that long?
What about recordings of DVB-C or DVB-T?
What level is the CPU running at when recording or watching live analog TV?
The maximum bitrate seems *very* high:

2010-12-01 18:58:51.163200 [scheduler thread(9)]: analog: Encoder BitRate setting to High
    2010-12-01 18:58:51.172200 [scheduler thread(9)]: analog: Encoder BitRate Min 65536 Max 80000000 Delta 1024

I wonder whether the encoder is struggling and dropping out. You might try reducing the quality or trying a different encoder...

mm1352000, big thanks for your help, I will continue to investigate as soon as I have some time over, tried with a different computer but have not made it work yet...

naibaf7, great work, I will try your installation as soon as I can and see if it solves my problem.

And, if it does not, I will be back with new logs :)

Once again, big thanks to both of you (and all you others) who help out here

    Hello again!
Been busy again but finally managed to make some tests, thought I should update in case you have some more bright ideas.

mm1352000: I tried to watch TV with my old setup and the pictures freezes after anything from a couple of seconds to a few minutes, normally shorter time, do not have any good log-files for these runs, made them in quite a haste.

Secondly I tried with naibaf7's solution, I managed to download your first file before you had to remove the downloads. Now the TV works great but the recordings have audio-video out of sync and sometimes the sound is terrible. When examining the recording in VLC it reports a framerate of 50 (but maybe that is normal with a 25 fps interlaced recording?).
When I try to change the quality settings in TV Server configuration now it reports that the used encoder doesn't support quality control.

Will try to assemble the new installer as specified in your last post and see if that works better

as you can see, you have to assemble the new package yourself!
The HowTo is written there... (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...l-most-software-encoder-based-tv-cards-90355/, page 2)

In your case, you might want to use ATI Encoders, they seem to solve the problem.
The new package includes InterVideo, ATI, CyberLink and Mainconcept (so you can test 4 times 4 combinations with different audio/video encoders!)

If you can't assemble the package yourself, write me a PM. :D

[Edit: naibaf7 beat me to the punch :)]

Sounds like your problem is either with signal or encoders dropping out. You probably read my post over on naibaf7's thread. I recommend the ATI AVIVO encoders over the Hauppauge ones. They seem to be much more stable than the Twinhan (Cyberlink) ones for me...

    Hello!
Haven't had much time to watch my recordings but at least I have tried recording a lot and finally it seems to work and what I have seen so far looks good.
Once again a big thank you for all your help.
