Actually slight lie, works and then stops after MediaPortal comes out of Hibernation.

I'm using PowerScheduler (sucessfully!) to power down my massively overspecc'd HTPC that just runs MP 1.2 Beta.

    This is working fine.

I use IRSS to change channels on my Sky Digibox (which I record using the S-Video - so no extra money possible to Sky for HiDef UNTIL they let me get a digital stream!).

This works fine, the IRSS service glows green in the system tray and all is sweetness and light.

But after it has hibernated it seems that it just doesn't work.

There's no obvious error, but no blink - blink - blink on the Sky box.

Am I missing something (easily possible) or is there something wrong.

What/where are the logs that I could post to help this get fixed? I do have extensive logging enabled.

Thank you (heck, just for reading this far).

Have you tried restarting mediaportal? (not that it will fix it)
I have a similar issue. When entering MP configuration i have to restart my computer in order to make it work properly. Restarting the application just freezes doing nothing.

No need to restart MP, that is working fine (I expect nothing less :D)

Unless you mean restart the IRSS service. That's a possible 'fix' but I don't know how I'd do a Net Stop/Start from within MP on resume.

('course, that might also require TVService to be restarted - don't know how that would respond to one of the services disappearing from sight.)

I know it's in maintenance mode, but it would be nice to get this fixed. I'm fairly sure that Windows must call something to tell a service it has woken up. I know that quite a few Windows suspend/shutdown/resume issues have been down to [professionally written] services not 'obeying the rules'.

    Yeah! Logs!

    OK, doncha just LOVE software....!

I ran MediaPortal using the debug mode* and let it go to hibernate, woke it up and the darn thing worked (that's the 11:33 logs zip).

So I just ran it as normal, initally could blast the Digibox fine.

But [after watching, some TV and a recorded film] tried to go onto a Sky channel using the IR blaster and it failed.

    [Sort of] hooray!

The blaster/remote is a real MCE one (not the Hauppauge clone which I have).

From the previous, unsucessful, debug run I knew I could get the logs so that is the 20:38 zip.

I then came out of MP and went back in - no change.

Came back out and restarted the IR Service - still didn't blast.

    So that's that gone.

    * Paranoid Delusion, you must get SO fed up of telling people how to take logs.

I apologise for NOT providing them before, I didn't know if IRSS had specific logs all to themselves, but that really is NO excuse.

It really is remarkably easy now, especially as it works for non debug runs. (Pity it didn't fail on the debug run, probably get more info from those logs.)

(Oh, the reply was ridiculously fast - is everybody else on holiday here?)

    Final word, just in general.

Please, please don't think I'm EVER 'dissing' MP - the work all the teams put in and the quality would put a lot of commercial outfits to shame. Heck, if it was rubbish I wouldn't have been using it for the last few years - my dearly beloved would have divorced me! :)
