Would a HW decoder save my day (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I'm considering to buy TT-premium C-2300. I already have Pinnacle 310i(DVB-T) and Terratec cinergy 1200 (DVB-C). My problem is that there seems not to be enough performance for change or watch another channel when another card is recording. I have not found any software decoder that fullfills my expectations about the performance of my system (maybe nvidia decoder, not tested ?). I assume this poor performance is partly caused by "not so compliant" dvb cards and their lousy drivers. It might even be some I/O problem.

However, i was looking for DVB-C card with HW decoder and found C-2300. Now i am intrested about decoder part drivers if those allow another card or any mpeg-stream to use that resource. And can MP do the routing for streams from any to that decoder. If not, is there any other HW decoders that would work with MP like this.

This next may be too much to ask, but it would be nice if C-2300 is able to offer stream from its tuner for direct recording while it is decoding another stream. I assume this might not be possible with C-2300, but who knows?

So, please someone tell me which HW compination would work like this with MP (already/soonest) and i get rid of these SW tuner cards.

IMHO I'd recommend FloppyDTV(In floppy bay or PCI) or FireDTV(firewire external unit), I'm a very happy customer. If you're not using any encrypted channels it may be a bit too pricy.

All of their products come in DVB-T/C/S.

FloppyDTV is quite far away from what i meant abowe, but thanks for this commercial. They seem to hide all product details in their web site, not very convincing but it may be enough for their target customers. I beleve that it may work flawlessly, but you probably not meant that it can offer HW decoding for other DVB-sources in your system.
