Remote: HP MCE

Its a MCE remote and reciever from a HP media center, The remote works great, but if I am watching TV and I enter in a channel (ie 42) it will turn to the channel one up. So I input channel 42 it comes as 43, but I see on live tv 42 (43 WZZX) and then it goes to channel 43.  Goes one channel up of what I input.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
