X10 remote not quite working (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I have been trying to change from an IR remote (which was working with IR server) to and X10 RF remote. I think that I am very close but there is either something that I am missing or 1.4.2RC2 is not quite working.

I am using a recent MediaPortal SVN (perhaps a month old) running on 32bit Vista Home Premium. I have adjusted the registry to disable internal handling of an MCE remote. Within MP I have made sure that no other remotes are selected. 'IR Control Plugin for IR Server' has been enabled.

I have installed an X10 driver and it seems to be working. Input Service Configuration has correctly auto detected the X10 emote (and Window Messages). I can connect to the remote using debug client and when I press a button I can see the messages that correspond to the buttons that I am pressing (X10CMD_ENTER for example).

If I understand correctly I now need to configure 'IR Control Plugin for IR Server' so that the commands that are being picked up by IR Server are mapped to MCE commands. I believe that I am supposed to work my way down the list of commands on the config screen, select each and press the appropriate button on my remote.

Am I supposed to get any kind of feedback from the plug-in as I do this? I have gone through all the keys and tested by running Mediaportal. MP does not respond.

I can tell from the 'Input Service' log file that IR Server is picking up the key presses, but nothing seems to happen on the plug-in config screen. Have I misunderstood something or could it be that the plug-in is not working?

Thanks for the help.
Chris

    Sorry for the late reply,

You will need to copy in the updated MP Control plugin files from the first post in the release thread. Then you will be able to configure your remote correctly in the MP Control Plugin setup.

Or wait for the next release, where this will be fixed in the installer.

    Thanks,

    Hi Aaron,

I'm not sure how you're implementing the X10 control, but the way I'm doing it in MP with the COM connection sink fixes lots of problems related to hibernation and suspend
