Hi.

I've got a amd x2 4450e (2x2.3ghz) but I tried the iron man x264 trailer but that doesnt playback well at all in media portal. I already tried installing coreavc which helps a bit but still far from watchable. If I play the file outside media portal (in vlc) its better but still not great either. On my standard q6600 (4x2.4Ghz) it plays back totally fine and cpu never gets above 21%. Even though the x2 ofcourse is slower if my q6600 does 21% max than surely the x2 should be fine too?

Ive got mediaportal 0.2.3.0 and xp pro sp2. How can I get things running smooth?

One thing that could solve problems like these are the AMD processor driver and the Dual Core optimiser. Do you have those installed? (they're on the AMD site to download if not).

Not sure of the resolution of the Iron Man trailer, but my old 4400 X2 was ok with 720p but a little problematic with some 1080p x264 files. Your other *standard* machine is quite a bit more powerful! CoreAVC is definitely the fastest of the decoders, so stick with that.

Nope doesnt really help either. I know my q6600 is quite a bit faster but it shouldnt be such a big difference? I did notice that if I open the trailer in vlc some ffd codecs are started in the taskbar but I do have coreavc configured to do all the files. (maybe its just audio and not video ffd does).
