xp mce remote and media portal (1 Viewer)

hi, can I use the mce remote control with media portal? I would like to use it with the mce replacement plug-in, because the plug-in disables to use the remote with other applications and at least at the moment, you cannot run both tv-server and mp.
the questions are:
- how to configure the green button not to start mce but mp?
- how to remap some of the buttons like the red and blue one to customized functions?

Hi ophth1,

I'll try to address everything you've asked in point form to avoid any confusion.

- You can use the MCE Remote control with MediaPortal in Windows XP without any additional software or plugin. It is natively supported in MediaPortal.

- You don't have to use the replacement driver or the MCE Replacement Plugin.

- If you want to use the MCE Replacement Plugin you can do that with the replacement driver or without the replacement driver. You choose.

- The MCE Replacement plugin comes with a program called "MCE Replacement Tray" that can launch MediaPortal when you press the green button.

- If you don't use the MCE Replacement Plugin you can use "MPTray" to launch MediaPortal when you press the green button. "MPTray" is available in the download section of the website.

- Most of the buttons on the remote can be customized in MediaPortal configuration, you can do this with the built in support or with the MCE Replacement Plugin.
