Still having problems with audio synch (video plays too fast) when playing Xvid AVIs.

I went & installed latest version of ffdshow (1/20/08) but it didn't seem to help.

I've confirmed the settings for video shows ffdshow for both MPG2 & h264 (though xVid is neither).

What else should I try so that it doesn't drift out of synch? The vids played fine fullscreen in VLC.

Could you post your logs? We really can't say anything without them. It sounds like something is going wrong with the media clock. This can be caused by a couple of things, but the most common is using reclock. Please post your logs and set the audio renderer to default in the config program.

VLC works differently than MP. First check that it plays correctly in WMP. if it doesn't play right there, then it won't play correctly in MP and you have a decoder problem.

The AVI plays fine in Windows Media Player and VLC. Audio is fine in Media Portal, but video 'slips' too fast now & again, making video ahead of audio within a minute or so of playback.

Attached are logs - the Beatles Yellow Submarine AVI which I made is the one I was testing. Ignore the planet earth MKV errors - I got that codec fixed.

    Thanks!
